You know, it’s kind of sad. There are a couple of days of the week that get the shaft when you’re talking Easter/Lenten holidays.

We have Fat Tuesday and Shrove Tuesday, Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday (what’s a Maundy, anyway? Enlighten me, please), Good Friday and Easter Sunday.

Where the heck are Monday and Saturday?

I’ve decided to start a movement to remedy this.

From now on, the Saturday after Good Friday is officially known as Adequate Saturday. If Friday’s so good, Saturday should at least be adequate, right? Associated activities for Adequate Saturday are things like getting your tabs renewed, running errands, or seeing a film at the dollar movie. You know, stuff that when someone asks you how your weekend was, you say ‘Not bad…’ Adequate type stuff.

Now, Canadians and Brits might say the Monday after Easter is covered by ‘Easter Monday’, but that’s a bit of a cop out since it’s pretty much just another day off. I suggest from now on, it shall be known as Egg Monday. The activity for this one’s easy, though – take egg salad for lunch. That’s it.
